Digital score and parts for "The Bard" as heard on "The Brass Indie Expo". Arranged by Daniel Romberger. Originally composed by Gord McGladdery for "Wandersong". Sheet music edited and designed by Thomas Kresge.
Score and parts sold separately. For a complete collection, be sure to add both options to your cart. Music delivered as a digital PDF. Three versions of the arrangement will be delivered, each in a different key: G (the original studio version), F, and Eb.
Performance Notes:
The Bard was arranged for brass quintet and percussion with a featured tenor vocalist. The arrangement can be performed without the vocal or percussion parts, though it might lose some of its charm! Vocal parts are cued in the brass where possible. The vocal part could optionally be given to a featured soloist on another instrument.
At least four percussionists are required to cover all parts, but if you are short on players, the cajón part can be followed by a single percussionist on their rhythm instrument of choice.
There is a whistling part at measure 47. The part is cued in trumpets, trombone, and vocals and should be performed by your ensemble's best whistler. Note that whistling notes in the trumpet parts are written in sounding pitch and are thus not transposed like the rest of the part.
Smaller notes indicate optional parts in an easier range.
The studio version of this track was performed in G major, but alternate versions of this arrangement in F and Eb major also exist. All versions are included with your purchase.
