Digital score and parts for "It's Pizza Time!" as heard on "The Brass Indie Expo". Arranged by Daniel Romberger. Originally composed by Ronan de Castel for "Pizza Tower". Sheet music edited and designed by Thomas Kresge.
Score and parts sold separately. For a complete collection, be sure to add both options to your cart. Music delivered as a digital PDF.
Purchase includes both versions of the track: "Studio" and "Concert". The concert version is more ideal for live performance, while the studio version is exactly as heard on the album.
Performance Notes:
The piece begins with "speak-singing" on the phrase "hello there." Make the sound a combination of creepy and flirty, trying to hit the exact pitches in a comfortable octave, holding each note for the same duration. The exact rhythm is not too important, nor is the exact entrance timing, but the timing should not line up with a beat.
The trumpets should begin off-stage, slowly walking on-stage and arriving at their normal playing position by measure 7.
In order to achieve effective key clicks, loosen the valve caps of your instrument. Alternatively, you may tap your instrument or a music stand with a small metal object.
This piece may be performed without the theremin if one is not available. In the absense of a theremin, we recommend employing pre-recorded samples of sirens and radio static where appropriate.
While this piece could theoretically be performed without the drum set, we do not recommend doing so. You've been warned.
This concert version of the track does not require piccolo trumpet and is in an overal easier range. The original "studio version", precicely as heard on the album, is also available.
Pizza Recipe:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. During the last 30 minutes, to ensure there is plenty of time to get fully up to temperature, place the pizza pan or stone in the oven. As it preheats, gently punch down the dough and knead five times to smooth it out. Add pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olives, chives.
Instrumentation:
Trumpet in Bb 1, Piccolo Trumpet in Bb
Trumpet in Bb 2
Horn in F
Trombone
Tuba
Drum Set
Theremin
