This is the opening theme to Jet Force Gemini, a 1999 N64 third-person shooter developed and published by Rare. Composed by Robin Beanland, the music is reminiscent of the exciting and epic themes of the space movies that came before it. I've been waiting many years for an excuse to do a live transcription, and finally it presented itself! Originally orchestrated with strings in mind, Thomas Kresge chimed in and re-orchestrated many of the string parts for a larger brass ensemble including two French horns and two trombones. The piece opens with a trailer-like intro before the main theme appears, only to fade into a dark musical battle, which culminates in the glorious reemergence of the victorious main theme as a finale!
